Take my neighbor George. He has a big pick up truck that is no more than two years old. He babies his cars - they are VERY WELL taken car of - really! So about a week ago, George got home after a long day of working - delivering Pepsi - and all he wanted to do was eat. George has one of the best appetities to witness. It is insane! So he was probably getting ready to dig into a side of beef, when his car alarm started going off. It was about 10 pm, so he didn't want to wake anyone that might be sleeping and he went out side to his truck. Luckily, he parked in the driveway.
The entire front end of his truck was on fire. The fire was so intense that is melted the entire front end of the vehicle. The tires are melted. The whole dash is melted. Everything under the hood is melted. So it sits in his driveway waiting for the insurance adjuster to come and check out the mess. As it turned out, the fire was caused by a wire in the battery that came loose and sparked the fire. He had only been in the truck five minutes earlier.
Now, had his car been in his attached garage, his house would have burned down. The fire was that fast and that hot!
So maybe rethink the garage thing....scraping windows is a good form of exercise!! And much less chance for a fire!

Parking your car in a garage is really not such a good idea...
